What accommodations are provided for examinees with limited English Proficiency?
Examinees with limited English proficiency may hire and pay for a qualified translator or interpreter to assist the proctor when taking an exam in a language not offered.
If a qualified translator cannot be secured, examinees may instead use a printed bilingual English-to-native language dictionary (e.g., English–Spanish) while taking the exam in English.
This type of dictionary does not require prior approval from the National Registry; however, the Test Administrator/Proctor must:
Inspect the dictionary during the check-in process
Report its use on the Incident Report Form
