Who is NOT required to have a New Mexico Food Handler Card?

Exempt from food handler training are:

• Certified Food Protection Managers

• Food handlers in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County

• Employees trained through an employer-approved food safety program

• Food employees at Temporary Food Establishments, if the Person in Charge is certified or holds a valid Food Handler Card

• Employees or volunteers at charitable organizations serving the needy, with a Certified Food Protection Manager in charge

• Employees not working as Food Employees.
